What we store in your browser, and why.
Everything is listed by name below. The short version: nothing for analytics or advertising is set unless you agree, and the site works fully if you decline.

The guides, the family space, sign-in and provider requests all still work. What we lose is the ability to tell whether a page actually helped you.
We do not sell your information, we run no advertising on Hestia, and nothing written inside a family space is used for measurement.
Necessary, set whether or not you consent
Sign-in session
Set by Supabase, our database and authentication provider, when you sign in. Held in your browser rather than as a third-party cookie. Without it you would be signed out on every page.

Records whether you accepted or declined, so we do not ask again on every page.

A local copy of your planning data so it loads immediately and survives a lost connection. Your own information, on your own device.

Your answers to the guided questions, so you are not asked twice and can close the tab without losing your list.
hestia_referral_code, hestia_referral_vendor
If a provider gave you a link, this remembers which business it was so we can tell them it was used. It records the business, never you.

Analytics, only if you accept
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics only after you accept. Before consent, the Google scripts are not requested or loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set. Advertising storage remains disabled even after analytics consent.
_ga, _ga_<id>
Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can see whether people find what they came for. Up to two years, set by Google, who may process it outside the EU.
What we look at
Which pages are read, how people arrive, where they stop. We build no profiles of individuals and never connect analytics to anything inside a family space.
What we deliberately do not do
- No advertising cookies, retargeting or ad pixels. We do not advertise to people who have read a page about a death.
- No selling or sharing your information.
- No measurement inside your family space.
- No tracking across other websites.
Changing your mind
Use the button at the top, or clear this site's browser storage and you will be asked again. Declining later does not delete what was already collected; write to info@planwithhestia.com and we will ask Google to delete it.
