A long list of providers is not the same as providers who take part.
The number of providers on a site only helps if you know what each listing means. It also helps to know if the business is really taking part.
Questions about each listing
- Was the listing gathered from other sources, or did the provider send it in?
- Has someone allowed to speak for the business claimed it?
- When were its services and prices last updated?
- Is the provider taking requests?
Questions about the website
- Do providers reply through the website?
- Does the site track how fast providers reply and whether families book?
- Can a provider pay to show up higher in the normal search results?
- Does the site show which listings are just listed and which providers take part?
How Hestia labels profiles
Hestia labels listings in three groups. Some come from public sources. Some have been claimed by the provider. Some are from providers taking requests. No one can pay to show up higher in the normal results. When dates are known, Hestia can show when services, prices, and price lists were last updated.
